Tips For Hotel Owners

Having stayed in some hotels in my life, but especially because I stayed in 3 hotels in the past one month, I have decided to put together some tips for hotel/motel/pension owners which come from personal experience.

1) When a school comes to spend the night at the hotel, don’t encourage them to make noise by saying “I hope you aren’t quiet tonight”.

2) If the room is designed for 3 people, don’t put another bed in. It results to being unable to open fridge/wardrobe/cupboards/balcony door.

3) Always have a key for the bathroom door. Some people, like me, like privacy when taking a shower etc.

4) Make sure that if two rooms are close together, the people from room A can’t go to room B using the balcony, or room B’s residents are probably going to have a hard time sleeping if someone is knocking on their balcony’s door.

5) Don’t charge a bar of chocolate €7 when there’s a supermarket just across the street, or guess what most people would prefer to do.

6) If you NEED to put something for decoration on top of a wardrobe, DON'T, under any circumstances, put a skeleton of a dead animal. Real or not, it creeps most people out.

7) On school trips, don’t put the boys in one floor of the hotel and the girls in another. It ruins all the fun.

8) If the sheets have blood for any reason, just washing them isn’t going to be enough. Dispose them or the next customers are going to get pissed off.

9) If there are movies on the TV customers need to pay for, make sure when they are going through them, snapshots of those movies are in some cases not visible. Otherwise, imagine 5-year-old kids looking at the porn snapshots.
